■ NEWCASTLE Town overcame a late scare to claim their first three points of the season at Wythenshawe Town.
In a game in which Castle started brightly it took until 20 minutes for the first goal. Jake Twyford showed fantastic skill to cut inside and fire home into the top corner.
Wythenshawe had a goal ruled out for offside, before Castle doubled their lead just before the half was over. Oli Ritchie’s cross found captain Tommy van der Laan to head home.
