■ A goal in each half from James Ding earned maximum points for Eastbourne in a drab affair at Phoenix Sports.
James Waters and Marcin Ruda both went close early on for the visitors while at the other end Harvey Browne forced Chris Winterton into a diving save.
Ding claimed his first goal on the half-hour mark when heading home a Jack Murphy cross.
His second came from the spot after a surprising decision from the referee but was comfortably placed into the back of the net.
