■ THE first ever competitive fixture between these two sides proved to be a close encounter.
Bideford took the lead after just six minutes when captain Alex Byrne got onto the end of a Billy Tucker cross to score.
Bideford kept up the pressure and extended their lead when Jamie Hearsey laid on a pass for Jordan Ewing to tuck into the back of the net.
