ASHINGTON gave their n hopes of moving away from the drop zone a boost with a deserved win over Ossett at a windswept Woodhorn Lane.
The Colliers took the lead after 17 minutes when skipper Karl Ross played the ball through to Craig Spooner, who slotted it inside the far post.
Striker Josh Gilchrist netted Ashington’s second eight minutes before the break after he latched onto a through ball from debutant Marc Ellison and lobbed over Petrovic.
