■ PLAY-OFF chasing Emley protected a slender lead to secure an important win after ending their wait to score again.
The Pewits were closing in on six hours of play without finding the net when Belchoir Rodrigues blasted them in front after 14 minutes. It settled Richard Treacy’s men, and Amir Berchil would have doubled their lead had alert Ashington keeper Ryan Catterick not intervened when he charged clear.
