JAMES Dwyer scored twice as the home side withstood a second-half onslaught from the Bears to secure all three points in a pulsating encounter.
The central defender edged his side in front with a towering header from a corner, and lashed home a second from the edge of the area just before the break. And when Harry Bunn added a third on his Avro debut moments later, the game looked over as a contest.
However, Congleton roared back after the interval, with captain Ethan Hartshorn scoring twice to set up a grandstand finish.
