■ THE first half kicked off as an effort from Joey Butlin sailed over the bar. Not long after, Jack Langston was brought down by Kieran Harrison, leading to a penalty and a red card for the Kidsgrove keeper. Langston coolly converted the kick past the stand-in keeper, Tom Pope.
The blue boys then doubled their advantage with an unfortunate own goal from Harry Goode.
As the second half began, Sam Wilding tested Pope who made another great save. The Scholars got their third goal when George Cater slotted in a simple tap-in. Danny Glover tried his luck next,...
