Struggling AFC Kempston Rovers face Cirencester Town at Hillgrounds Leisure on Saturday looking to build on a win in their last league outing.
After securing all three points with a 1-0 victory over Kidlington on March 23, Kempston Rovers sit bottom of the Southern League Division One Central.
They travel to play a Cirencester side seventh in the standings, who were held in their last match, 2-2 against Leighton Town.
With 26 goals in 27 games so far this season, Kempston Rovers are the league’s lowest scorers with 1.0 goals per game. And they are conceding more than average, letting in 49 goals at a rate of 1.8 per game.
Cirencester, meanwhile, are average scorers, with 1.7 goals per game. They have conceded 1.3 goals per game.
The hosts are in good form in the Southern League Division One Central, with four wins and a draw from their last six games.
With a win and two draws over that period, Town’s form is much worse – they have taken five points from 18, compared to Kempston Rovers’ 13.
In the last three years, Kempston Rovers and Cirencester have played each other on three occasions. Cirencester won all of them.
Their last meeting was on September 16, when Cirencester won 4-0 at home.
