Welwyn Garden City face a challenge to maintain their high-scoring form away against a tight Cirencester Town defence on Saturday.
With 67 goals in 29 games, Welwyn Garden are the joint-top scorers in the Southern League Division One Central ahead of the 3pm kick-off at the Corinium Stadium.
They face a Cirencester side who have scored 61 in 34 matches, but conceded only 43 goals, putting them third among the league’s tightest defences – only Biggleswade Town and Bedford Town have conceded fewer goals.
Cirencester are sixth in the table after 34 games, of which they have won 14 and drawn nine, earning 51 points.
Welwyn Garden are five places behind Town in 11th, with 13 wins and three draws putting them on 42 points.
The hosts are in reasonable form in the Southern League Division One Central, with three wins and two draws from their last six games.
With two wins and a draw over that period, City’s form is worse – they have taken seven points from 18, compared to Cirencester’s 11.
In the last three years, Cirencester and Welwyn Garden have played each other on three occasions. They won one each, and they drew once.
Their last meeting was on September 23, when they played out a 1-1 draw.
Cirencester’s last match was on April 20, a 3-2 win against Hertford Town.
Welwyn Garden drew 3-3 with Aylesbury United last time out, also on April 20.
