Mid-season relegation candidates Westbury United face a challenge against high-flying Frome Town on Friday.
Westbury United are 17th in the Southern League Division One – South table, and have picked up five wins and seven draws in their 24 games to date.
Frome, meanwhile, are second in the standings with 46 points, having won 14 and drawn four of their first 23 matches, and are one point behind table-toppers Wimborne Town.
With 50 goals in 23 games so far this season, Frome are the league’s highest scorers with 2.2 goals per game. And they are conceding fewer than average, letting in 31 goals at a rate of 1.3 per game.
Westbury, meanwhile, are below average scorers, with 1.4 goals per game, compared to a league average of 1.6. They have conceded 1.9 goals per game.
United are in disappointing form in the Southern League Division One South, with one win and three draws from their last six games.
With four wins and two losses over that period, Town’s form is much better – they have taken 12 points from 18, compared to the hosts’ six.
In the last three years, Westbury and Frome have played each other on three occasions. Westbury won one of them and Frome the other.
Their last meeting was on December 12, when Frome won 3-1 at home.
Westbury’s last match was on February 3, a 4-4 draw against Bishop’s Cleeve.
Frome beat Malvern Town 4-0 last time out, on Saturday.
