Brian Wilson appointed manager of Alsager Town

FORMER Stoke City and Bristol City defender Brian Wilson has been appointed as the new manager of .

Wilson, 37, who had been player/assistant manager at , replaces Stuart Tulloch, who has stepped down from the Division One South Bullets for personal reasons.

“I would like to say a massive ‘thank you’ to chairman Terry Greer and the board for giving me the opportunity to manage Alsager Town,”

said Wilson, who helped Cheltenham Town to victory in the League Two play-offs in 2005-06.

“Whilst we are in a difficult situation at present, I will be working hard behind the scenes to put things in place for when we can resume training and matches again.

“During my 18-year professional playing career I’ve worked under some successful managers and have inherited a wealth of knowledge and experience that will help me in my own managerial role.

“I want to bring success to this close-knit family club and one the fans will enjoy to come and watch.”

Greer said: “Having spoken at length with him and heard what others have had to say, we believe that we have made the right appointment for the club.”
