RUNAWAY league leaders Basford finished 2017 in style, stretching their unbeaten league record to 23 games with a convincing win over second-placed Corby.
After a tight opening period, Basford broke the deadlock six minutes from the break, Deon Meikle heading home James Reid’s corner at the far post.
And they doubled their lead three minutes later, Kieran Wells scoring from close range after another Reid corner wasn’t cleared.
