LEAGUE TIE WILL RAISE AWARENESS

THE North West Counties League has linked up with a major campaign for suicide prevention in a unique fi rst.
The league’s offi cial charity partner for the coming season will be State of Mind, an organisation which was set up in 2011 following the tragedy of former Wigan Warriors and Great Britain international rugby league player Terry Newton, who took his own life in September 2010.
The aim is to use the power of sport to promote positive mental health among sportsmen and women, fans and wider communities, and ultimately to prevent suicide.
