Hitchin finally up and running

HITCHIN Town’s long wait for a first league win was finally ended with a fairly comfortable victory over a Stratford team yet to win away from home.
The game began in dramatic fashion when after barely three minutes a Hitchin corner for Stratford skipper Ross Oulton found his counterpart Dan Webb.
Stephen Cawley’s initial spot kick was saved by Elliott Taylor, but Cawley converted the parry.
Charlie Thake had a chance to double the lead with a free shot following a defensive error, but he fired straight at Taylor.
