BANGOR CITY will be searching for a new assistant manager after Derek Goulding announced he would be stepping down at the end of the season.
Goulding previously served as the first ever manager of North West Counties side AFC Liverpool as well as boss of Evo-Stik NPL North club Burscough before joining the Citizens as assistant.
However, he has decided to depart the Welsh club with ambitions of once again taking his own managerial job.
The former centre-back enjoyed two successful spells with Bangor as a player in the 1980s and had been part of the club’s management team for the past two seasons.
He helped boss Neville Powell turn the Citizens’ fortunes around after a slow start to the 2014-15 season and they are in contention for a Europa League play-off spot this term.
A Bangor statement said: “On behalf of everyone at Bangor City FC we would like to wish Derek well in his future endeavours and, rest assured, he will always be welcome at the Bangor University Stadium.”
