HACKNEY Wick’s home Essex Senior League game against Southend Manor on Wednesday night was abandoned after just four minutes when one of the visiting players sustained what was thought at the time to be a broken leg.
Soon after play was halted, it was agreed that the game at the Old Spotted dog would be abandoned so that Ellis Skidmore could be treated.
A statement from Southend Manor shortly afterwards said: “A tough night for us, unsure to what extent the injury is. It’s an open wound and we are praying for no break.”
