NEWPORT Isle of Wight chairman Stuart Ross has quit days before a decision is to be made on the Wessex Premier strugglers’ proposed new ground.
Ross has quit after 18 months in the post because his day job has relocated him to the mainland.
He said that he felt he could not do his job as chairman remotely from the other side of the Solent.
“My aim was to secure a new home for Newport FC and ensure it has a long and sustainable future”, he said.
