BALA TOWN moved back to within one point of top spot in the JD Cymru Premier Division after smashing newly-promoted side Penybont 6-1.
The Lakesiders were 5-1 up and out of sight by half-time at the Kymco Stadium.
They ran riot with Henry Jones, two Chris Venables penalties, Lassana Mendes and Louis Robles on the scoresheet.
Kieran Howard’s reply was scant consolation for Penybont, who are now bottom of the table with just one point from their opening five matches and still searching for their first win.
