Boreham Wood sign experienced striker Charlie MacDonald

have bolstered their attacking options with the addition of experienced Conference winner Charlie MacDonald.

MacDonald helped the Bees to promotion back to the League last season with eight goals in 30 appearances.

The 34-year-old ex-Charlton trainee has scored 125 career goals and brings invaluable experience to the Conference South champions.

Wood boss Ian Allinson said: “I’m excited to be able to work with somebody like Charlie and he will be very important to us this season.

“I’ve said since our promotion that we would need to be patient to get the players that I want at this club and the chairman has thankfully backed me with this deal.

“I will, though, get a player who understands the level we’re now at, a player who is still hungry to perform, a player with great experience and having met him I know Charlie will be a real asset to the team and his new team-mates.”
