STOCKPORT COUNTY boss Jim Gannon feels it’s the perfect time for midfielder Paul Turnbull to return to Edgeley Park.
The 23-year-old began his career with the Hatters and went on to make over 120 appearances in their colours before joining Northampton Town for an undisclosed compensation fee.
He returned to County on loan in January this year and has now re-signed for them a second time, this time on a three-month deal.
Commenting on Turnbull’s, Gannon told the club’s website: “I’ve spoken to Paul, his agent and [Northampton boss] Aidy Boothroyd over the last couple of days and everybody thinks it would be in everybody’s interest if Paul could come here and play.
“Given the hole in our midfield at the moment, which could do with somebody of his quality and character then I think it’s a perfect time for Paul to come in.”
Turnbull himself added: “It’s good to be back at County. There’s plenty of people here I’m good friends with.
“Last season we had some great form and results toward the end, so hopefully we can repeat that again.”
