ROB SCOTT says Anthony Elding won’t be leaving Grimsby Town unless the Mariners can find another striker to replace him.
Elding, 30, wants a move away from Blundell Park and has put in a transfer request.
However, joint-boss Scott says the former Rochdale frontman will remain with the Blue Square Bet Premier outfit until they are able to add to their frontline.
Speaking to BBC Radio Humberside, Scott said: “He’s put in a transfer request but we’re not prepared to just let someone go without getting reinforcements in.
“Players who are contracted to this club have to abide by that. It’s disappointing but it’s his choice.”
