ALDERSHOT TOWN groundsman Andy Nunn is to lend a hand to neighbours Hartley Wintney and ensure their FA Vase fifth round tie against Hereford on Saturday goes ahead.
The first game last Saturday was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch and with more rain due this week, Nunn has offered his help.
Nunn will help the Row with pitch covers and sponge rollers at the Memorial Playing Fields and will also provide assistance on matchday.
A bumper crowd is expected for the big Vase tie and Hartley Wintney could host local rivals Camberley Town in the quarter-finals if they are victorious.
Nunn said: “We’re delighted to help Hartley Wintney get this huge game played on Saturday. It is a pleasure to be able to help our local football clubs, and having been involved in two FA Vase runs, with Aldershot Town and Holbeach United, I know what the competition means to those involved.
“The success of Hartley Wintney, and also Camberley Town, in this season’s FA Vase really seems to have captured the imagination of many football fans in this area. We wish both teams the best of luck.”
