EASTLEIGH boss Chris Todd has appointed veteran forward Ben Strevens as his new assistant manager to replace the outgoing Shaun North.
Former Cheltenham Town and Bristol Rovers coach North joined the Spitfires in October last year to work alongside Todd after he replaced Richard Hill as manager.
Todd had previously worked under North while playing for Torquay United but says they have gone their separate ways as “it wasn’t working”.
Replacing North is experienced former Barnet, Dagenham & Redbridge and Wycombe Wanderers man Strevens, who has played for Eastleigh for the past three years.
He is currently serving a seven-match suspension for spitting in the recent game against Forest Green Rovers but will now be able to have an input from the touchline.
Todd told BBC Radio Solent: “I’m doing it for the best of the club, myself and the players. It just wasn’t working and I decided to let him go.
“I thank him for his effort and time at the football club but you move on because that’s football.”
