DARTFORD have secured the signing of Tom Bonner from Kent rivals Ebbsfleet United, three years after the defender originally left the Darts.
The 28-year-old spent three seasons with Tony Burman’s men after joining in 2010 before leaving for full-time football and Cambridge United.
He was part of the U’s squad that won promotion back to the Football League in 2013-14 but struggled to break into the side after that and joined Dover Athletic on loan during the 2014-15 campaign.
In January 2015 he signed for Ebbsfleet and started 36 times for the club last season as they narrowly missed out on the National League South title before losing to Maidstone United in the promotion final.
He also captained the Fleet for much of the campaign but following a post season chat with boss Daryl McMahon, he has decided to return to Dartford.
Darts boss Burman said: “I am delighted to have Tom back on board for next season, he will be a excellent addition to the squad and he has now gained a lot more experience from his time at Cambridge, Dover and Ebbsfleet since leaving us three seasons ago.
“Tom is a good defender and has the hunger to succeed, and I have no doubt that Tom will help the club achieve their targets over the next couple of seasons.
“I have also been having discussions with other players over the last month which have all been positive, and we hope to have more additions to the squad before we report back for pre-season training.”
Meanwhile, Ebbsfleet have also confirmed the departures of a number of other players as McMahon begins to shape his squad for next season.
Keeper Preston Edwards has signed for Dulwich Hamlet after a loan spell there last term and Alex Osborn will join Margate.
Danny Haynes, Brandon Hall, Lloyd Harrington, Joe Howe, Kelvin Langmead, Theo Lewis, Aiden Palmer and Robbie Willmott will all be released at the end of their contracts on June 30.
Midfielder Sam Deering, however, has signed a deal to remain at Stonebridge Road next season after joining from Whitehawk in March.
