BLAINE HUDSON says Chester was where he wanted to be after signing for the Blues from local rivals Wrexham.
The 24-year-old former Cambridge United and Welling centre-half made 73 appearances for the Red Dragons over the past two seasons after joining following his release from the U’s.
Hudson, who played in the FA Trophy final against North Ferriby in 2015, wasn’t offered a new deal at the end of last season by Wrexham boss Gary Mills.
He didn’t have to wait too long for a new club, however, penning a one-year deal with cross-border rivals Chester.
The big defender becomes Blues boss Jon McCarthy’s first signing of the summer as Chester look to better last season’s 17th place finish.
Hudson told the club’s website: “I wanted to stay in the local area and I’d always enjoyed playing at Chester – it’s where I want to be.
“Credit to Jon McCarthy and Ian Sharps for what they’ve done since they took charge, when I came to meet them before they know it’s a clean slate to have a go this season and I want to be a part of that.
“I’m still very ambitious and want to help push this team up the table.”
Hudson’s move from Wrexham to Chester follows midfielder John Rooney’s switch the other way earlier this summer.
