BRAINTREE TOWN have added to their attacking options with the signing of striker Jack Midson from National League rivals Eastleigh.
The 32-year-old spent two seasons with the Spitfires, helping them finish fourth in the league in 2014-15 but he failed to score for the club last term.
Midson was subsequently released but the former Oxford United and AFC Wimbledon man will be remaining in Non-League‘s top tier after signing a deal with Braintree.
He becomes the seventh summer signing for last season’s National League play-off semi-finalists and boss Jamie Day reckons Midson will be hungry following last season.
Day told the club’s website: “Jack has a proven pedigree at this level and above. I think he got a bit frustrated last season but I know he’s raring to go and will do really well for us.
“The lads are working hard in training, but I’ve still got a bit of work to finish over the next few days when I hope to add two or three more players to the squad.”
