have added to their attacking options with the signing of striker Jack Midson from rivals .

The 32-year-old spent two seasons with the Spitfires, helping them finish fourth in the league in 2014-15 but he failed to score for the club last term.

Midson was subsequently released but the former Oxford United and AFC Wimbledon man will be remaining in ‘s top tier after signing a deal with Braintree.

He becomes the seventh summer signing for last season’s National League play-off semi-finalists and boss Jamie Day reckons Midson will be hungry following last season.

Day told the club’s website: “Jack has a proven pedigree at this level and above. I think he got a bit frustrated last season but I know he’s raring to go and will do really well for us.

“The lads are working hard in training, but I’ve still got a bit of work to finish over the next few days when I hope to add two or three more players to the squad.”
