BT SPORT have announced they will broadcast the opening day National League fixture between newcomers Maidstone United and York City.
The competition released its fixtures for all three divisions yesterday and the opening day, Saturday August 6, has thrown up a number of intriguing games.
And the broadcaster has chosen the Gallagher Stadium as the first ground to broadcast from in the 2016-17 season.
The Stones, who won the National League South promotion final, will be aiming to get off to a strong start in Non-League‘s top tier.
Similarly, York City – who suffered relegation from League Two last season – are hoping for smiles back on faces at Bootham Crescent with a completely revamped squad.
The Minstermen’s first taste of action back in Non-League will come on the 3G surface at the Gallagher Stadium and both Jay Saunders and Jackie McNamara will want to put a marker down in front of the television cameras.
Kick-off in Kent will be 12.15pm and fans of all the other National League clubs will be able to see all the goals and important action from around the division on the BT Sport highlights show on Sunday night.
