MICHAEL POKE has returned to Woking from National League rivals Eastleigh, ten years after initially leaving the Cards.
The 30-year-old keeper joined Eastleigh last summer and made 12 appearances in Non-League‘s top tier as the Spitfires narrowly missed out on the play-off places.
Poke previously played for Woking back in 2006, making four appearances during a loan spell from Southampton.
Following loan stints at Torquay, he signed for Brighton & Hove Albion in 2010 before rejoining Torquay permanently two years later.
He spent two further seasons with the Gulls but left for Portsmouth when the club suffered relegation back into Non-League at the end of the 2013-14 campaign.
However, he failed to make a single appearance for Pompey and joined Eastleigh last summer as injury cover for fellow keeper Ross Flitney, initially on loan before signing permanently in January.
His move to Kingfield is a big boost for Woking, who saw number one Jake Cole leave for local rivals Aldershot Town earlier this summer.
