FORMER Forest Green Rovers goalkeeper Steve Arnold has signed for National League rivals Dover Athletic.
Arnold made 29 appearances for Rovers last season, his last coming at Wembley as the club were beaten 3-1 by Grimsby Town in the National League promotion final.
The 26-year-old was subsequently released from the club after two years at the New Lawn, making 45 appearances in total and keeping 16 clean sheets.
He joined Forest Green in the summer of 2014 from Stevenage and he also has Non-League experience with Hayes & Yeading, Eastleigh and Grays Athletic.
The former Arsenal and Norwich City youngster will be competing with Mitch Walker for Dover’s number one jersey following Andy Rafferty’s move to Spennymoor Town.
Arnold played 45 minutes in Saturday’s impressive 2-0 win over Leyton Orient and he could face his former employers Forest Green live on BT Sport after their clash against Dover on September 10 was chosen for broadcast.
