FORMER Leicester City and Chelsea youngster Ollie Norburn has earned a deal at Macclesfield Town after impressing during pre-season.
The 23-year-old midfielder joined the Silkmen on trial this summer and immediately made a good impression, scoring in the 3-1 win over Leek Town.
He did enough during his time with the club to earn a deal and will now look to win a starting place in John Askey’s side ahead of the National League season.
Norburn got his first real taste of senior football on loan at Bristol Rovers and joined the Gas permanently in July 2012.
He joined their fellow League Two side Plymouth Argyle two years later after making 60 appearances for Rovers but failed to hold down a first team place at Home Park.
The midfielder dropped into Non-League in November 2015 with National League side Guiseley, scoring three times in 17 appearances as the Lions survived in Non-League’s top tier.
He scored the infamous equaliser against Braintree after Iron striker Michael Cheek had gone down injured with Guiseley opting not to allow Braintree a free goal.
