CRAIG MADDEN has left his post as assistant manager at National League Southport while boss Andy Bishop has added Craig Stanley to his squad.
Madden, 57, was a coach at Stockport County for 13 years and also served as assistant at Fleetwood Town before joining Southport in February.
He originally worked under then-boss Dino Maamria but continued in the role after striker Andy Bishop replaced the outgoing manager.
The Sandgrounders have won just one of their opening five league games this season and Madden has left the club after talks with Bishop.
A club statement read: “After discussions with manager Andy Bishop, Craig Madden has left his position as Southport assistant manager.
“We would like to thank Craig for all his work at the club and wish him the best for the future.”
Bishop, meanwhile, has added some much needed experience to his squad in the shape of Stanley who joins on loan from league rivals Lincoln City.
The 33-year-old ex-Hereford, Bristol Rovers and Morecambe midfielder made 29 appearances for the Imps last season, but had not played so far this season and arrives at Southport for a month.
