Midfielder Adam Dawson returns to Tranmere Rovers after Eastleigh exit

TRANMERE ROVERS have snapped up midfielder Adam Dawson following his release from rivals .

The 24-year-old, who signed for the Spitfires in the summer, asked to move closer to his wife as they are expecting a child next year and Dawson was subsequently released from his contract.

He had made 11 appearances and scored once for Eastleigh so far this season and didn’t have to wait long for a new club.

Dawson is no stranger to Tranmere having enjoyed a loan spell at Prenton Park from last season while Gary Brabin was in charge.

The former Liverpool, Wigan and Leicester youngster played nine times in a Rovers shirt and is in line to make his second debut for the club on Saturday in the derby against .

Boss Micky Mellon said: “I’m delighted to bring Adam to the club. He is a very good player and someone who is already familiar with the place and a lot of the players from his time here last season.

“It’s important to have different options within the squad and Adam will bring a bit of balance to the squad and allow us to play different ways when we need to.”
