North Ferriby United skipper Danny Clarke leaves for FC Halifax Town

UNITED captain Danny Clarke has left the club to team up with former boss Billy Heath at .

The ex-, , and Hull United midfielder has been a key part of the Ferriby side for the past five years.

He helped the Villagers lift the in 2015 before they won promotion through the North play-offs last season.

However, with Ferriby struggling in ‘s top tier, Clarke has decided to move on and join Halifax, now managed by ex-Villagers boss Heath.

A number of Ferriby players, including Tom Denton and Liam King, moved to the Shay alongside Heath in the summer and Clarke has now joined them.

A Ferriby statement read: “Clarke, after five amazing loyal years on and off the pitch at North Ferriby, has decided to join FC Halifax Town, possibly the last big move in his career.

“He has achieved so much in football, especially at North Ferriby. Recent highlights have been playing at , winning the FA Trophy and then getting promotion to the fifth tier of English football.

“An excellent captain and ambassador, Danny has given everything in all of his matches for the club. North Ferriby, although hugely sad to see him go, wish him all the best for this phase in his football career.”
