Hereford United Release Josh Hunt

JOSH HUNT has been released by Conference Premier club United.

The youngster spent the past two seasons as part of the Bulls’ Under-18 side and was handed a pre-season trial to try and impress first-team boss Martin Foyle.

However, the striker did not quite make the grade and will now leave Edgar .

Speaking to the club’s website, Foyle said: “I’ve let Josh know today that I’ve made the decision to release him.

“He’s a hard worker, a very honest young lad, so it’s a tough decision.

“I’ve had to be fair to him, we’ve got no regular reserve side and he’s too old to play for the youth, he needs and he wouldn’t be getting much of it here.

“I’d like to wish him all the best for the future and thank him for his effort since arriving. Unfortunately it’s just not worked out.

“Releasing him now means he can go and get some trials somewhere else and have a realistic chance of finding himself a club for the new season.”
