EASTLEIGH boss Martin Allen has returned to former club Barnet to sign full-back Gavin Hoyte and experienced midfielder Sam Togwell.
Allen, who replaced Ronnie Moore as Spitfires boss at the start of December, had already brought back former Eastleigh man Ben Strevens and signed young defender Hakeem Odoffin on loan from Wolves.
He has continued to strengthen his squad with the addition of former Arsenal youngster and current Trinidan & Tobago international Hoyte.
The 26-year-old signed for Barnet in the summer of 2015 and was a first-team regular in League Two until sufffering a season-ending knee injury in January.
He made his first appearance of this season in October but then picked up another knock in his second game and will now hope to stay injury free at Eastleigh after signing an 18-month contract.
Hoyte said: “Thank you to Barnet staff, fans and players, you have all been amazing.Thank you and all the very best. Exciting times ahead at Eastleigh, I cant wait to get started.”
Hoyte’s former Barnet team-mate Togwell has also joined him at the Silverlake Stadium ahead of Saturday’s visit to Southport.
Togwell, 32, has dropped back into Non-League to sign for the Spitfires for a fee thought to be in the region of £20,000.
The experienced midfielder said: “I am pleased to be joining a club with plenty of ambition. Also I am looking forward to working for a manager whom I enjoy working for and have had plenty of good times with.
“Me and the lads know we will need a strong second half to the season to achieve what we all want.”
