TORQUAY UNITED boss Kevin Nicholson says he is unsure of his future after it was announced the club had been bought by Gaming International Ltd.
The Swindon-based firm, whose original bid to buy the club in the summer fell through after being unable to agree on a deal for the freehold to Plainmoor stadium, were announced as the Gulls’ new owners on Friday.
Both parties expect the deal to formally go through on Tuesday with Gaming International having already pumped £125,000 into the club via a loan which was due to repaid in January.
Torquay supporters will be hoping for a brighter future following a period of financial uncertainty but popular boss Nicholson doesn’t exactly know where he stands.
“I don’t know what their plans are with the club,” club legend Nicholson told BBC Devon.
“They’re the new owners of the club, so they are in a position where whatever they choose to do with me, with the club and everything else they’re well within their rights to do it.
“Until I’ve sat and had a chat with them and heard what they’ve had to say, and I get a chance to put my side of it over and explain to them where I think we need to improve and what we need to do, then there’s not much I can say.
“I took the job last year and my targets haven’t changed, my targets are to give this club back to the community, to get the club back in the Football League and to be around to see that.”
Torquay’s goalless draw at York City on Saturday left them 17th in the National League table and five points clear of the relegation zone.
