DEAN KEATES has continued to overhaul his squad, letting six players go this week as he tries to steer the club away from trouble in the .

The north Wales outfit confirmed on Tuesday that strikers Shaun Harrad and Gerry McDonagh had left the Racecourse and they have been joined through the exit door by four more names.

Kai Edwards, Nortei Nortey and Tyler Harvey have had their contracts cancelled while Jordan Evans’ short-term deal hasn’t been extended.

Experienced forward Harrad joined the club in the summer from Torquay but managed just two goals in 18 league games for the Dragons. McDonagh, meanwhile, has returned to parent club Nottingham Forest following a loan spell which yielded five goals.

Defender Edwards returned to Wrexham in the summer and has made 25 appearances this season while Nortey and Harvey have recently been out on loan at and respectively.

All six players were signed in the summer by former boss and Keates, who has also let young striker Khaellem Bailey-Nicholls join NPL Premier side  on loan, is hoping to bring in some new faces with Wrexham 16th in the National League.

On possible incomings, Keates told The Daily Post: “All being well there will definitely be one (signing) before the weekend.

“And we are waiting on a few more possibilities without saying they are there. We have made a couple of offers, a couple of loans and a couple of permanents, so hopefully we will know more in the next 24 hours.

“We have got two come in on trial, one is a young lad, who’s played in the Conference before and one a midfielder with a wealth of experience, so it is just a case of seeing how they are the next couple of days going forward.”
