striker Kieffer Moore has earned a move back into the League after sealing a shock switch to Championship club Ipswich Town.

Moore, 24, watched the Tractor Boys’ win against Blackburn on Saturday and it was revealed after Forest Green’s win at that he had agreed to join Ipswich for an undisclosed fee.

The 6ft 6ins forward has previous experience in the Championship with , who he joined in July 2013 after starring for and .

After leaving Yeovil, he spent a season in Norway with top flight side Viking FK and played against the likes of Rosenborg and Molde.

Moore returned to England last January with Forest Green and made 35 appearances for Rovers, scoring seven times.

He enjoyed a successful loan spell at earlier this season, scoring five times in four games, and he will now be hoping to make a similar impression in England’s second tier.

Forest Green boss Mark Cooper said: “Kieffer Moore has joined Ipswich Town and he goes with our best wishes.”

On the signing of Moore, Ipswich boss Mick McCarthy told the East Anglian Daily Times: “I first saw him when he played against us for Yeovil. He hit the post in the 90th minute.

“Tom Lawrence caught the eye for Yeovil that night too. Kieffer has since played for Viking and ended up at Forest Green, but that doesn’t bother me.

“I look at the big centre forward for Lincoln last week (Matt Rhead), how much trouble did he cause? Bloody hell fire. Would we have liked him in our team on a lot of weeks this season? Yes, we would.

“There are players about that can be a real asset for us and I think Kieffer will be one of them.”
