Bradford City bid for Barrow defender Nick Anderton as offers come in for Bluebirds’ stars

boss says the club have turned down offers received over the weekend and The understands Nick Anderton is wanted by League One outfit Bradford City.

Full-back Anderton, 20, signed a two-year deal with Barrow in the summer after enjoying two long loan spells with the Bluebirds in previous seasons.

The former Preston North End youngster has impressed this season and has played every game of Barrow’s campaign so far.

His performances haven’t gone unnoticed, however, with Premier League champions Leicester, Burnley, Swansea and Wigan all keeping an eye on his development.

Bradford, currently fifth in League One, are looking to strengthen their defence and have targeted Anderton, putting in a £75,000 bid.

Barrow forward Jordan Williams is another player to have reportedly attracted interest and Cox revealed on Monday morning that the Bluebirds had received offers although didn’t reveal their identities.

A statement from Barrow boss Cox read: “Over the weekend the club have received written offers for certain players.

“The offers that have come in do not meet the club’s valuation. We will endeavour to keep everyone up to date with any future developments.”
