ALDERSHOT TOWN have welcomed back midfielder Manny Oyeleke on a short-term deal until the end of the season after he previously starred for the club on loan.
The former Chelsea youngster enjoyed three loan spells with the Shots from Brentford between August 2013 and January 2015.
In total, the 24-year-old scored six goals in 51 appearances and helped the Shots retain their Conference Premier status in 2013-14.
Oyeleke was released by Brentford in May 2015 after further loan spells with Woking and Northampton and he signed for League Two outfit Exeter City.
He made 11 appearances for the Grecians last term, scoring against Sunderland in the League Cup, but was released in the summer.
Oyeleke has been without a club since May after a long-term injury kept him out of the game but he is now back at a club he knows well.
To get up to speed, the midfielder has been loaned out to Ryman Premier outfit Canvey Island for a month in the hope he will return to the Shots fighting fit.
Oyeleke told the club’s website: “I’ve got loads of great memories here, I love the club and the fans, so I’m excited to be back.
“I’ve also heard a lot of good things about the gaffer, from players he has worked with, and I can see that the team play good football, so it’s a good match for me.
“Gary really wants to help players improve and at this stage in my career I want to be at a club where the gaffer is dedicated to improving players. We also want to get results and I think we’ve got a good chance to push on for the rest of this season. I’m raring to go as soon as I can.”
“I’m delighted to have brought Manny back to the club,” added boss Gary Waddock. “I’ve always liked him as a player, and saw a lot of his games here in his loan spells from Brentford. When he’s 100 per cent fit he will be an excellent addition to the squad.”
