GUISELEY boss Adam Lockwood says “something has to change’ about the refereeing in the National League following his side’s trip to Boreham Wood on Saturday.
The Lions picked up another welcome point to move seven clear of the relegation zone but rather than celebrate his side’s clean sheet, Lockwood was left fuming by the performance of referee Dean Treleaven.
Lockwood’s outburst comes just two months after Barrow boss Paul Cox also hit out at the standard of officiating following the sending off of two of his players at Aldershot.
The Guiseley chief says both benches resorted to laughing in the Meadow Park stalemate as attentions once again turned to the referee.
Frustrated Lockwood said “I think we could have played today without any officials.
“There wasn’t any control on the game all the way through. Both benches were laughing about some of the decisions at the end of the game, but it’s not funny, it’s serious and I’m not sure how serious they are taking it.
“People have paid good money to come and watch the game and it becomes about the officials. It’s unbelievable what you see sometimes. Something has to change.”
