‘Mr Consistency’ Kenny Davis swaps Boreham Wood for league rivals Sutton United

KENNY DAVIS says his switch from to Sutton United was an easy decision for him to make.

In the first big transfer of the close season, the ‘s Mr Consistency has moved around the M25 and will play in amber next term.

The cab driver knows how to navigate himself around the pitch too and the 28-year-old is starting to reach the peak of his game according to his new manager Paul Doswell.

The ex-Braintree midfielder will add extra know-how and with Nicky Bailey also on their books, Sutton are already building a good looking central spine for next season.

“After speaking to Paul and meeting a few members of his team it was an easy decision,” Davis told the club’s website.

“I am already looking forward to meeting up with my new team-mates and getting the season started.

“It’s a club that’s been on the rise over the last few years and hopefully over the next few years I can help them achieve more success.”

Doswell has wanted Davis in his team for years and managed to get his man two weeks after the season ended.

“We’ve analysed carefully how we need to improve the current squad, and a goal-scoring midfielder with the ability also to contribute assists was an area that we highlighted,” Doswell said.

“I’ve known Kenny for many years and have always admired him as a player, he’s intelligent and a real winner who will fit into our dressing room ethic.

“He has played for , and speaking to Danny Cowley about Kenny’s time with him at Braintree confirmed all I needed to know, that we’re getting a top player and person.”
