GRIMSBY TOWN have confirmed that striker Liam Hearn will be sidelined for several months through injury.
The frontman ruptured his left Achilles during training last week and will now undergo surgery to repair the damage.
He will then spend four to six weeks in a plaster cast and then some time in a cast boot while the injury heals.
Hearn, 26, finished 2011/12 as Grimsby’s top scorer with 27 goals in the Blue Square Bet Premier and made it into The Non-League Paper’s Top 20 strikers of the season.
