CARL PIERIGIANNI and Cameron Darkwah will leave Stockport County at the end of the month.
Pierigianni, 20, joined the Hatters after being released by Peterborough United in the summer of 2011 and went on to feature over 35 times for them last season.
Fellow defender Darkwah, 19, scored twice in seven appearances in 2011/12, all of which came from the substitute bench.
The pair were offered permanent contracts by Hatters boss Jim Gannon this summer but decided to reject them.
However, as they failed to find new clubs, Stockport were obligated to re-engage them until August 31 on the same terms they were contracted on last season.
The Blue Square Bet Premier club are now unable to offer the duo further contracts so have agreed that they can leave as free agents when the transfer window comes to an end.
Speaking about their imminent departure, Gannon told the club’s website: “Naturally I am disappointed at the circumstances that have led to the current expiration of both player’s contracts, but my overriding concern is that I must continue to be mindful of our financial responsibility to bring the playing budget to within a sustainable level.
“On behalf of everyone at Stockport County I would like to thank both players for the service they have given under my management and on behalf of the club. We wish them every success in the careers as they move forward.”
