STOCKPORT COUNTY are awaiting clearance before confirming the signing of midfielder Simon Hackney.
The 29-year-old began his career with Stockport-based Woodley Sports before joining Carlisle United in 2005.
He went on to make over 100 appearances for the Cumbrians prior to short spells with Colchester United, Rochdale and FC Halifax Town.
Hackney joined Hereford United last December but made just one appearance for the Bulls before being released in early January.
