LUTON TOWN boss John Still has admitted he is surprised to have been able to snap up striker Mark Cullen.
Cullen spent the final months of last season on loan at Stockport County from Hull City but Still says he didn’t expect the frontman to return the Conference after being released by Tigers boss Steve Bruce.
Speaking to the club’s website, Still said: “I’ve been aware of Mark since he’s been at Hull under Peter Taylor, who thought a lot of the boy. He was on loan at Stockport last year and I thought he was outstanding against us.
“I made a lot of calls to try and get him here and hand on heart I didn’t think he would come down to Conference level.
“But Mark’s got good ability, he can score, he’s movement’s clever and I think he’s going to develop into a really good player.”
