CAMBRIDGE UNITED midfielder Adam Miller has been forced to retire from professional football due to injury.
The 30-year-old sustained an injury early in the 2010/11 season and has since undergone a series of operations and treatments in a bid to get back to fitness.
However, the former Canvey Island, Grays, Aldershot, Stevenage and Gillingham man has now conceded that he will be unable to continue as a full-time pro.
Speaking to the Cambridge United website, he said: “Over the last two years it’s been tough for me and tough for the club.
“I’ve undergone many different procedures to try and get back to fitness and unfortunately things haven’t worked out as we had hoped.
“I’m disappointed I was only able to play a few games for Cambridge and I’m devastated that this is the end of my career.”
