WREXHAM have handed a one-year contract to defender David Artell.
The 32-year-old spent the back end of last season on loan at the Racecourse Ground from League Two club Northampton Town.
He made 11 appearances for the Dragons during that period and featured in both legs of the Conference Premier play-off semi-final against Kidderminster Harriers, scoring in a 2-1 win in the first leg.
The Rotherham-born centre-back also played in the final at Wembley, where the Dragons lost 2-0 to their Welsh rivals Newport County.
Artell, who includes Rotherham, Mansfield, Chester, Morecambe and Crewe among his former clubs, had his Northampton deal cancelled on the final day of the summer transfer window so is able to join Wrexham as a free agent.
