MAIDSTONE UNITED have made a bold signal of intent after signing Jack Parkinson from Skrill Premier Woking for an undisclosed fee.
Parkinson, 24, can operate in defence or midfield and played 58 times for the Cards, scoring 14 goals after joining from Welling United.
During his time with the Wings, Parkinson garnered interest from a number of Football League clubs after being a key cog in Jamie Day’s side. He was skipper as the club made it to the 2011-12 Skrill South play-off final.
“I am very pleased to be joining Maidstone United and see it as a good career move,” said Parkinson. “This is a big club that’s well-supported. It’s very ambitious and looking to go through the leagues and I am excited to be a part of that journey.”
Parkinson is no stranger to the Stones having coached at the club’s football academy for the past two-and-a-half years. A UEFA A Licence coach, Parkinson joines the Gallagher Stadium outfit, who are fourth in the Ryman Premier, as a player-coach.
Maidstone manager Jay Saunders added: “I am delighted to have Jack on board. He’s got lots of experience and at 24 is still a good age.
“It shows how far we have come in such a short space of time to attract someone of that calibre. He’ll be a great addition to the squad and I look forward to working with him.”
