HELLENIC League Premier champions Kidlington are hoping to celebrate in style with a bumper crowd after announcing free admission for Saturday’s final game against Tuffley Rovers.
The Greens have enjoyed a memorable campaign, making it to the FA Cup second round qualifying and the quarter-finals of the FA Vase.
They haven’t let their cup runs detract from their league form, however, and the 2-1 win at Lydney Town on Saturday secured the title for Kidlington.
Boss Martin Wilkinson said: “It’s a great day for Kidlington and I am absolutely delighted we have achieved our promotion dream.
“I spoke with Lydney Town’s assistant manager Stuart Liddington before the game and I knew it would be a challenging fixture but the lads were terrific once again. All in all it was a perfect day and Lydney Town were perfect hosts.”
They will be presented with the Hellenic Premier shield before the game on Saturday and the club are hoping the local community will be out in force to celebrate, especially with entry being absolutely free.
The brilliant Greens have won 15 consecutive games and conceded just one goal in their last 15 hours of football.
